An "in person" Barnabas Day is offered on Oct. 26, 2024 (Sat., 12:30 PM - 4:30 PM) at Armstrong building (Irvine). Please choose 1 workshop as we will be offering 3 continuous sessions of the workshop on the same day. Each session will build on the prior session. Due to room capacity issue, enrollment will be "first come, first served" basis.
We offer 1-on-1 life coaching with Barnabas coaches who have been certified in Christian Leadership Coaching (CCLC) after completing 32 hours of coaching training and additional 10 hours of mentor coaching. Coaching is NOT… telling you what you should do, dispensing of wisdom, or even counseling you. Coaching IS… “A conversation that leads to awareness, which leads to action, which leads to change.” It involves the following skills of the coach: Active Listening, Powerful Questioning, Creative Awareness. Individuals can receive up to 3 sessions of 30-45 min. each.

You will learn to praise in the best way possible—on their progress, effort, etc. (hint, it’s not just “good job”) and more!

Build emotional resilience through learning tools and exercises to navigate and respond to challenges and stresses of life.
Equips those who have limited discretionary time to develop healthy habits and capacity expanding habits. Learn to build small habits (health-related & bandwidth-related) that will be stacked with existing habits (i.e., making bed, brewing coffee). Some examples include daily stretching, adopting 50/50 rule of eating, & keeping an empty sink by end of the night. Our motto is "something is better than nothing.”

Continue improving your message notetaking skills through weekly lab time to review & refine your own MBS notes. We will also have lab time to use our improved notes for clearer and deeper personal reflection.

Learn to develop a daily habit to give thanks to God, remember His good work, using Psalm 103 as a framework. We utilize a habit tracker, as well as studying and learning from inspiring Christians and other sources to boost motivation for growth in gratitude.
This workshop is offered to first time expecting parents who have passed their first trimester. The workshop is framed in three parts: “Fears & Facts,” “Facts & Flaws, “ and “Fortitude.” We’ll introduce some tools and prompts to: - address fears and concerns of being first time parents - get a head start on preparing for baby by growing in capacity - develop fortitude for the challenges ahead so that soon-to-be parents can transition into parenthood and remain in ministry.
